Momento is a great little program that fits my need perfectly - and doesn't empty my already empty wallet. See?? There's nothing in there but a drivers license and old movie ticket. Toss that..
The v1.08 update states that hitting the TAB key inserts a tab. Duh - I hit the TAB key expecting a window tab, not a text tab. Mindware bug...
An evolution of Momento can change the concept from "note" to "note pad". That is, create the option of making tabbed note pages. For example, select a tab labelled "places to buy beer" or another labelled "places to dump girlfriend". The tabs appear along the side or bottom of the note pad and are associated with a specific page.

I am thinking about having Memento support structured information, but haven't come to many conclusions so far. But I'm not sure what the tabbed notepad would be useful for - in your example, the common theme is places? Is that right? Or do you just want all notes in one window?

memento is great because it is so small. it does what you need and nothing more. leave it just as it is!

Feature request: Ctrl-t or F5 or some other hotkey to insert a timestamp. Notepad has this feature (hit F5) and it's really useful. Should be super easy to implement and would be a great addition.

I would just like to second the suggestion of Anonymous Genius above. Great idea.

I also second the addition of time stamp in the body. But I really like the footprint of the program and send KUDOS to the author for a great feature rich program that REALLY shines. The only other feature I would enjoy would be to set the transparency say at 20% (selectable) as a default for all notes. But trivial need just a desire. Again I can't say enough about how good a program this is. I love it already and I just downloaded today. Don't make the footprint much bigger it's fast! ! ! ! Thank you, for making it available for free! ! ! ! ! !

I've added the timestamp feature, and yes, it was easy :-)

How about a simple way (if possible) to search across all notes. For example, if I am doing a study about birds, I could search for all notes with "bird" in them?? Too tough?? Am I way off base??
And I do want to say, Mememto is a great little program--kudos!

Great tool. Very fast and easy to use.
I'd like to have:
- hotkey to display/hide the notes, so I don't have to move the mouse over the icon
- transparency default (as suggested before)
- title selectable (as suggested before)
I found a small error:
- when double-clicking on the icon to create a new note, the screen doesn't get updated; I have to move the taskbar (hid/display) to clean it. I run Windows 2000, Service Pack 3.
Otherwise... LOVE IT!
Regards
Thomas

Memento is some great software. I of course have an idea that I think would make it a little better:
-Selectable font
(so I can set it to one of the fonts with constant width per character, like in PFE)
