Hi Tim,

Really handy application, this one. Nice to see alpha blending has been added. 'Course, doesn't stop me from sticking real post-its on the monitor - old habits, eh? :o)

One request: I'd like it to support unicode/double-byte text. (I'm no programmer but perhaps this can be achieved by including the ability to select the font.)

Thanks!

What do you want Unicode for specifically?

I ask because someone asked me for Unicode support because they wanted to use Turkish characters. While I was looking into supporting Unicode, they emailed me to say:

"I just solved my Turkish language problem and I want to inform you. In Windows XP -> Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options there is an Advanced Tab. And there is a option language for non-unicode programs, so I select Turkish from there and Memento works fine with UNICODE characters."

Is that any help to you?

Tim

Tim,

Specifically, I need double-byte support for CJK (Chinese/Japanese/Korean) because I work with Japanese text. W2K - which is what I use - supports it natively at the system locale level because I've installed the optional Japanese language pack. Thus there is no reason why Memento shouldn't be able to display Japanese characters properly if I could choose one of the double-byte fonts already installed in my machine.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Turkish, although catered for in Unicode, is still a single-byte language.

As I say, I ain't no programmer.

Cheers.
