It would only be a minor extension to add "To Do" items. These are simply notes which have a "done" flag attached.
Then, when you do your Mac port, you have a little drop down menu off the menu bar (one of the ones which is always there on the right hand side) which shows all your notes and To Do items, and clicking one opens it. Meta-click marks it as done.
Or something. You could add extra attributes as necessary.
Of course, I haven't bothered to download Memento.
